CPM S90V - martensitic stainless high-alloy tool steel with a hardness of 56-59 HRC with 9.0% vanadium (V) and 2.3% carbon (C). The high vanadium content promotes the formation of hard vanadium carbides for strength and exceptional wear resistance, and increases corrosion resistance. This unique steel is designed for the production of high-grade blades and knife wedges. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and toughness compared to steels produced by conventional methods.
Blade - a slim and sharp Drop Point with a smooth Plain blade with an elegant satin finish on the blade. Completely flat grind (Full Flat Grind), provides exceptional edge geometry. Enlarged 14mm SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) for ambidextrous thumb opening. Deep index-finger choil, index finger undercut for control of the folder grip and also to protect the finger from slipping on the blade.
Handle - made of durable Carbon Fiber (carbon fiber compressed under pressure with synthetic resin). Steel backspacer provides a solid structure for the Back Lock mechanism. Steel wire metal clip with 2-way (top, right/left) 2-way clip positions. Enlarged cord opening at the back.
