In 1851 Revolver Colt Navy Pietta was introduced to the U.S. Navy, despite its name it was sold in greater quantities to the Army than the Navy. Colt revolver reputation Navy Sheriff soon reached England, where in 1852 Samuel Colt built the only factory outside the United States. Revolvers produced at this factory between 1853 and 1856 were called Navy London.

The Colt Sheriff revolver is built with an open-frame brass frame, fire-hardened pobojczyk. Black-covered 6-chambered drum and octagonal barrel length 4.875", thread pitch 1-30". Trigger guard (bail) and grip fittings of polished brass. Targeting Instruments, brass fixed bow tie.
Covers - grip with walnut wood, make it easier to get a firm grip on the Pietta 1851 Revolver. Oiling enhances the color of the wood, highlights the grain, and preserves the natural appearance.
